History

LINE was founded in 1989 as LINE TV by Piers Lea, our CEO. Back then, he brought a fresh vision to the world of digital learning and corporate communications. Since that time, the world has changed, and we have changed with it. Digital learning has been revolutionised by the rise of the internet, multimedia, rapid development, Web 2.0 and computer games, and we have flourished by embracing these changes enthusiastically.

In 1989, we had a four-person team working out of a small room in West London. Now, our team is more than 100 strong, spread over offices in London, Zurich and Sheffield. We’ve also cultivated an impressive international client base in the public, corporate and defence sectors. But no matter who we’re working for, our dedication to clients never wavers, and we’re always looking for new ways to make learning campaigns effective.

We offer our clients unparalleled flexibility of service, from consulting to rapid development, bespoke high-end e-learning to point-of-need information repositories. We consider ourselves the ‘blended learning people’, constantly striving to give our customers the best blend for their needs with all the resources and techniques at our disposal.

And we’re not standing still! We continue to innovate, reinforcing our reputation as leaders in our field with new ventures such as 3D worlds, mobile platforms and user-generated content. On the 8th April 2014, it was announced that LINE was to be acquired by Learning Technologies Group plc (LTG). LINE will join the other companies in LTG’s portfolio to form a global learning technologies business that delivers strategic and transformative end-to-end learning solutions.
